PTO Shed ribbon cutting

Jamie Brester, PTO president, is leaving her position after eight years with something that was much needed by the PTO. A shed to store several items, including carnival games, crafting supplies, plastic Easter eggs and napkins and paper towels. A ribbon cutting using a rope was held at the Henry A. Coffeen School Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Brester reflected on how the PTO had outgrown its closet, which was only three shelves. She said the organization tried to create a budget for a shed but did not have the finances to do it. “We couldn’t find something that would last us seasonally, Brester said.

That is when Sheridan County School District 2 school board member Doug Moore stepped in by reaching out to Jason Bloedorns of Bloedorns-Sheridan, a lumber store. Bloedorns donated all the supplies to build the shed for $500. Bruce Kjerstad built the shed.

“It’s overwhelming the amount of stress this takes off of us, we have space of our own to be able to keep things and not continually buy and carry it on through the years,” Brester said.
