Fort Phil Kearny to Host Noted Author Paul Hedren

Most historians know the name, Paul Hedren. He has written several books about the Plains Indian Wars, many which occurred in this area. He will be coming to Kearny Community Hall on Tuesday to talk about his latest book.

“Sitting Bull’s War: The Battle of Little Big Horn and the Fight for Buffalo and Freedom on the Plains,’ is told from perspective of the Lakota and the Northern Cheyenne, as they fought for their way of life on the Wyoming plains in the 1860s and 1870s.

Hedren has also written several other books, including –“Traveler’s Guide to the Great Sioux War: The Battlefields, Forts, and Related Sites of America’s Greatest Indian War”; ‘Fort Laramie and the Great Sioux War’; and ‘Rosebud, June 17, 1876: Prelude to the Little Big Horn.’ Many of his books are available at the Fort Phil Kearny bookstore.

There will be a book signing after the talk. All are welcome to attend.
