The Sheridan WYO Rodeo Carnival and vendors will return as part of Rodeo Week, offering family-friendly entertainment at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds alongside the Sheridan WYO Rodeo.

WYO Rodeo Board Member Austin Reutzel is primarily responsible for the carnival and vendors that make the fairgrounds outside of the arena a fun and memorable experience.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Reutzel said one vendor comes all the way from Oregon to take part in WYO Rodeo Week. And many residents and yearly visitors to the rodeo look forward to seeing their favorite vendor each year.

Reutzel said the board has explored possibilities to expand on the amount of vendors contracted with the WYO Rodeo in the future. He said a lot of thought goes into the planning process with a finite amount of space, power and shelter available at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.

The carnival will operate at 5 p.m. to midnight July 8 – 11. The carnival provides rodeo goers and thrill seekers another way to enjoy the week’s festivities beyond the arena. The carnival, provided by Dreamland Carnival Company, is a Montana and Wyoming-based family operation that provides carnivals to both western states.

Featuring classic and new rides, games and food vendors, the carnival is for all ages. Reutzel said the carnival is an important part of Rodeo Week’s tradition, creating a festive atmosphere for families and visitors while complementing the PRCA rodeo, World Championship Indian Relay Races and other community events.
