YMCA Strives to Make Camp Availability All Summer

The Sheridan County YMCA is continuing its summer programming with openings still available in several youth camp offerings, including day camps, arts camps and sports camps. 

Executive Director Liz Cassiday said these camps are the product of partnerships with organizations such as SAGE Community Arts, and are designed to provide children with educational, creative and recreational opportunities throughout the summer break while offering families flexible programming options. 

Cassiday said it was the goal of the YMCA team to ensure enough staff, dedicated volunteers and counselors were available throughout the summer so camps were consistent.  This was to accommodate parents who may need to find something for the kids to do as the summer months progress.

Cassiday said the camps focus on building skills, encouraging physical activity and fostering social connections in a safe and supportive environment.
