The purchase of a new fire truck was an agenda item at Monday night’s Sheridan City Council study session. City Fleet and Administrative Coordinator Heather Czaplinkski provided the details of the engine to the Council and said they were presented with an opportunity to procure the City’s next fire engine earlier than what they expected.

Staff’s recommendation is for the Mayor and Council to approve the purchase of a Pierce Enforcer Rescue Engine from Front Range Fire Apparatus for the amount of $1.25 million. The purchase will be on Council’s agenda for their upcoming business meeting Monday if staff receives concurrence from the state. Czaplinkski said if the purchase is approved, the City would receive the new fire engine in the fall of 2027.
