On Wednesday, August 19, Rebecca Adsit, Superintendent at SCSD#2, shared her back-to-school information. She said that at the All Staff Meeting Tuesday, morning, she introduced the SCSD#2 trustees, directors, and district administration.

“I shared the following – A thank you for the hours of seen and unseen work you’ve already put into cleaning and prepping classrooms, professional development, lesson planning, the buildings, the infrastructure, and so much more, all to get ready for our students. Every one of you plays a crucial role in our District.

“When you build relationships with students, you’ve engaged them. By working together, choosing a positive mindset, and seeing the greatness in one another and them, you impact our students’ lives.

“The magic of this district happens in your classrooms, buses, cafeterias, and hallways and in the relationships you build with each other and our kids from pre-K to seniors. Thank you for choosing to be part of this team.”

She added that the real foundation of Sheridan County District No. 2 is the relationships that we build among our students, educators, staff, and families. Education was never meant to happen in a silo. It takes a connected community to create an environment where children feel supported and inspired.

I want to continue to deepen our partnership with you through open, honest, and proactive communication. Strong relationships are built on trust. You deserve to feel fully informed and included at every step of your child’s educational journey and we want to create a two-way channel where your voice is heard and valued, whether we are celebrating major student accomplishments or navigating complex challenges.

My door—along with the doors of our principals and teachers—is always open. If something is working well, tell us. If something needs attention, please speak up. Your perspective is essential to shaping the future of our schools. When home and school work together in alignment, our students thrive. Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for being our most valuable partners in their success. I look forward to listening, learning, and building a bright future together.
