Final preparations and registrations for the last Wolf Creek Wrangle are taking place. 

Since 2008, the Wolf Creek Wrangle has brought extreme runners, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts from all the US together to support Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns through a trail race on the historic Eaton’s Ranch.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Habitat Executive Director Christine Dieterich said being the final year of the trail race, it will not feature the extreme 18 mile course.

The event takes approximately six months to plan and all the proceeds from the event help Habitat continue building and repairing affordable homes for local families throughout Sheridan and Johnson counties. 

Dieterich said the decision to conclude the fundraiser was not made lightly. But ultimately, she and her team decided the efforts to put on the race each year can be better used elsewhere.

Participants can also find race details, course information and volunteer opportunities ahead of this year’s event.

Dieterich said ideas for a replacement fundraiser are currently being discussed.
