Floods in Nebraska swept away telegraph wires, while the shutting off of the power at the local light plant in Sheridan crippled the Western Union. For many hours today, Sheridan was shut off from the outside world.

Leslie Miller of Casper is in Sheridan today en route to Arvada to look after cattle interests he owns there.

Mrs. J.T. Cook is visiting in the city from Clearmont.

Nearly 25,000 pounds of tobacco have been shipped from Sheridan to Wyoming soldiers since the “JoeK” tobacco fund was established. A shipment of 80,000 cigarettes left this week to be distributed among the members of the 148th regiment of field artillery, consisting of Wyoming troops.
