Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) sat down with CBS News Sunday Morning to discuss the importance of the first public hearing of the House Select Committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol January 6, 2021. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Jan. 6 Public Hearing
Thursday night’s primetime public hearing is expected to be a comprehensive overview of the Select Committee’s investigation into the events of January 6, 2021. Cheney, Vice Chair of the House Committee, addressed the state of the GOP during Sunday’s interview.

In a March court filing, the January 6 Committee said that former President Donald Trump and members of his campaign engaged in a criminal conspiracy in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Cheney said we are at a time of testing right now in America.

The committee is expected to hold several more public hearings on the investigation in the near future. Cheney is one of only two Republicans serving on the House’s January 6 Committee. The other House Republican on the committee is Adam Kinzinger of Illinois.
