Tidbit Activity Series Fall season schedule

September 2, 2022

The Museum at the Bighorns reports that the Tidbit Activity Series continues this fall with new free educational programs for elementary-aged children.

Tidbit has been an active program at the museum since the early 2000s. The Museum at the Bighorns reports that at over a decade old, thousands of students have explored local history and culture through this series.

Tidbit will take place at 10 a.m. Saturdays at the museum, each with a different theme.

Sept. 17– Flags: Kids will learn about the meaning behind flags and children will create their own personal flag.

Oct. 8– Archaeology: Children will have fun while learning about archaeology from a real archaeologist, Jenny Aiello.

Nov. 19– Veterans Day Activities: While Americans usually wear poppies for Memorial Day, they have long been a symbol of remembrance for WWI. Tidbit and kids will make tissue paper poppies and learn about the history of Veteran’s Day.

Dec. 17– German Paper Cutting: Kids will learn about Scherenschnitte, a traditional German paper craft that was often used to make holiday decorations.

According to the Museum, Tidbit will be inside for the September, November, and December programs. Weather permitting, October’s Tidbit will be on the museum’s porch. Advanced registration is encouraged because space is limited to 40 children for each activity.

The Museum requires that an adult stay for the duration of the program. Sign up and learn more on the museum’s website, here, or by calling them at 307-675-1150.
