Wyoming’s seven-month streak of state-wide monthly unemployment rate decreases has ended, but new numbers show that there wasn’t much of an increase.
The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the statewide rate increased from 3.0% in July, to 3.1% in August.
It was 4.3% in August of 2021.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment numbers for August 2022 is at 3.7%, which is up from 3.5% in July.
Sheridan and Johnson Counties’ unemployment rate for August are both at 2.8%, which is up from 2.7% and 2.6% in July respectively.
The July 2021 percentages for Sheridan County was 3.6% and Johnson County was 3.4%.
Teton County had the lowest unemployment rate in Wyoming in August at 1.7%, while Natrona and Sweetwater Counties had the highest rate at 3.9%.
Nonfarm employment in the Cowboy State has increased by 8,100 jobs from July 2021 to July 2022.
