Sheridan College will soon be remodeling one of their buildings, and the college has secured some of the funds by selling some property.

Recently the College Board of Trustees accepted a full price offer of $2.144 million from Whitney Benefits, for 2 areas of land at the intersection of Solutions Way and Heartland Drive.

On the southeast corner of that intersection, the college owns a 25,000 square foot building that is used for construction, electrical, HVAC and advanced manufacturing programs.

The property that was sold was about 5 acres between the building and I-90, and about 21 acres south of that, all of which is on the opposite side of the freeway from the Sheridan College campus.

College president Dr. Walter Tribely says the college is taking the next step in supporting its manufacturing sector.

Dr. Walter Tribley

“We have a manufacturing hub here in Sheridan and we of course have precision machining, we have a machine tool program, which is the first step and now we’re bringing the next level higher manufacturing training to the college and in addition to that there will also be support for the construction trades that that building will hold.”

The properties that were sold were originally acquired from SEEDA and Seven Pillars LLC.
