One man is dead after being involved in a head-on collision involving two tractor-trailer combination units.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says shortly after 6am this past Thursday (November 3rd), one trailer was heading east-bound on US Highway 212, near the Wyoming-South Dakota border line, when it crossed the centerline, and hit another trailer that was traveling in the opposite direction, head on.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was a 74-year old male from North Carolina and was not properly restrained.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The patrol is investigating whether driver inattention or a possible medical condition resulted in the wreck.
The other driver was a 63-year old male from Missouri.
He was wearing his seat belt and was not injured.
This is the 112th fatality on Wyoming highways this year, compared to 96 this time last year.
