The Sheridan and Buffalo high school rodeo teams will be competing this coming weekend at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program,  Sheridan High School Rodeo Team member, Abagail Olson and Buffalo High School Rodeo Team member and student director of break-away roping, Jymie Adamson, stopped by to talk about the fastest event in rodeo; break-away roping.

Adamson described the event.

Although good friends, both young ladies will be competing for their schools during the High School Rodeo at the Johnson County Fairgrounds this weekend.

A break-away roping run is usually completed in approximately two seconds. When asked what they focus on during the short seconds before the calf is released, Olson said she focuses on where she wants her rope to go.

Having competed and trained for the event for years, Adamson trusts in her muscle memory and her faith.
