The need for vaccinations is more apparent this year as in May, public health officials in Sheridan County took steps to make residents aware that rabies is present in Sheridan County and prevention strategies exist to help people reduce exposure to the virus for themselves, their pets and livestock.
According to Sheridan County Public Health, as of April 30, four skunks have tested positive for rabies in Sheridan County.
