Sheridan High School Girls Basketball: Quadrant play starts this weekend in the 4A Northeast for basketball and the Sheridan High School Lady Broncs have a couple of monkeys they need to get off their backs in terms of opponents.
First up is a road trip to Campbell County on Friday and then the team returns home to play Thunder Basin on Saturday.
The way the quadrant works is that there’s only 6 games that matter when it comes to seeding at the regional tournament.
Coach Ryan Sullivan explains what goals the team has set for this weekend’s games.
Sheridan’s best chance to beat Thunder Basin was last year in the state tournament semi-finals.
The game went into overtime, and the Lady Bolts needed only the first 10 seconds of the extra period to drain a 3 to seize the momentum for good.
Tip off Friday at Campbell County is scheduled for 6pm and the boys game will follow.
On Saturday, the action starts at 3:30pm
You can hear all the games LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.
Saturday’s home game will also have a LIVE video stream.
You can see that at sheridanmedia.com.
Big Horn, Tongue River and Arvada-Clearmont HS Basketball: Big Horn is at home on Saturday vs. Sundance, while TR will also play on Saturday at Wright.
Arvada-Clearmont plays at Upton on Friday and is home vs. Hulett on Saturday.
Wrestling: Sheridan will visit Thunder Basin tomorrow to start 4A East Conference action.
After that, the Broncs will compete at a weekend tournament at Moorcroft.
Tongue River will host Buffalo and Lovell in a double dual tomorrow, and then also visit Moorcroft this weekend.
Boys Swimming: Sheridan hosted a 4-team dual yesterday vs. Buffalo and the Casper teams to make-up for not being able to compete this past weekend due to the cold weather, which made it too dangerous to travel.
You can see the results in the sports section at sheridanmedia.com.
Sheridan will host Kelly Walsh in a dual this Friday beginning at 4pm.
Nordic Skiing: Sheridan will be back in action this Friday and Saturday at Pinedale.
The team was off last week from competition.
Indoor Track and Field: Sheridan, Big Horn and Tongue River are all scheduled to compete Saturday at Gillette.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys have the midweek off from competition and will be back on this court this Saturday at home vs. Nevada.
Tip off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
The Wyoming Cowgirls play tonight at New Mexico.
That game is scheduled to begin at 7pm and you can hear it LIVE on Fox Sports 106.3 FM.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets lost last night at Philadelphia 126-121.
The Nuggets have a big game on Friday as they play at Boston, who currently has the best record in the league.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won last night at Ottawa 7-4, after trailing 4-2 at one point in the second period.
The Avs are back on the ice tomorrow at Boston.
Sheridan Hawks Hockey: There’s only 5 home games left on the schedule for the Sheridan Hawks and 2 of them are this weekend.
The Hawks host Butte on Friday and Saturday beginning at 7:30pm.
After this weekend, Sheridan only has 1 home game in February, and then close the regular season with 2 home games during the first weekend of March, so if the team is going to try to make a push towards the playoffs, they need to win both this weekend, and then do well on the road.
