At the Wednesday, August 13, SCSD#3 Board Meeting James Seckman with Seckman & Thomas, Certified Public Accountants, presented the audit, via zoom, saying it was that the district was well in compliance.
He also complemented the office staff for their help with the audit. He said the books and records were in tremendous shape. He said that Greg Rohrer, business manager and Brenda Michelena, accounts manager, had everything ready. He said they scheduled three days and they finished the audit in less than two.

After the audit report, the board heard a presentation from Jonathan Broersma, 5th Grade Jennifer Betz, Dean of Students and Jonathan Cameron Spade, PE teacher, about the House System, which was started last year at AC School.
Betz explained a bit about the House System, and what they are working to accomplish.
Spade said they presented the house system to around 70 principals from all over the state of Wyoming. He said several of them came up to get more information about what they are doing in SCSD#3. He said they are always growing and looking towards the future and make it grow and better for the kids. He also thanked the board for their support.
Broersma said they are doing right now is student leadership. He said each house has a head of house, and they had meetings over the summer, where they talked about what their goals are for the upcoming year. He said the students were ‘really excited’ about the house system.

There will also be leadership training for the students during the school year. He added that the House System is ‘student led and staff supported.’ this year they are also incorporating grade school students in the house system. He said that the houses will have tables at the house party on Wednesday where they promote their houses.
He added that the school will again be hosting a community lunch at the school, and Broersma said there was a new twist this year.

In the public comment section, Aubrey Holland, A/C food services, and her daughter, Jessi, a student at A/C School, approached the board about the proposed Sheridan County Public Library Partnership.

Jessi Holland talked about why she felt that the library partnership would be good for the students.
Zachary Smiley, Branch Coordinator from Sheridan County Fulmer Library, was at the meeting and he talked about what they planned to do bringing books into the school.
He said that the library could rotate books on a weekly basis. Books from the Sheridan Library are delivered to the Clearmont Branch on Monday and Wednesday. He said they would also like to have an information kiosk at the school, possibly with a computer where the students would have access to the WYLD network, which is a group of over 100 libraries in Wyoming that share resources and services.

Using their library card, students could reserve books that could be delivered to the school.
The board moved to approve the partnership.
In other business, the board approved two new policies on second reading, the personal electronic devices and concealed carry of firearms. They also approved the student handbook for the 2025-2026 school year.
