Sheridan Man Arraigned for Drug Distribution

During the arraignment hearing, James Allen entered not guilty pleas to the charges of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The conspiracy charge is for allegedly conspiring with other individuals to distribute meth in the Sheridan area between March, 2024, and September 2025. The two delivery charges are from controlled buys where Allen allegedly sold meth to a confidential informant this year on August 23 and September 3. Allen’s arrest was part of an investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation into a methamphetamine distribution ring in Sheridan County.

District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled a  three-day jury trial to begin on February 9. A pretrial conference will take place January 15 at 10:30 am. Judge Phillips agreed to a request to modify Allen’s bond to a cash or surety posting, but stipulated that the bond would remain at $15,000.

Each of the three charges are punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.
