News – Sheridan Media

Leadership Sheridan County is a program designed to inspire citizens to assume leadership roles throughout the Sheridan community. Although this year’s class has graduated, applications are now being accepted for the 2026 class through Oct. 31.

Anyone over the age of 18 can participate in Leadership Sheridan County. Area businesses, public and private agencies, civic groups and other organizations are encouraged to sponsor individuals with leadership potential for participation in the program. Participants should have a desire to learn about both the history and future of Sheridan County from economic and cultural perspectives.

Participants must also have the support and commitment of their employer to ensure they can fulfill program requirements. All participants are chosen through an application process managed by the Leadership Steering Committee.

Leadership Sheridan County Steering Committee Chair Alison Meacham appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to discuss the selection process for this popular and beneficial program.

Although organizers would like to include more participants each year, they’ve found that the optimal class size is 22.

Creating a diverse group of Sheridan County residents remains a key component of the program’s mission, reflecting the strength of American leadership ideals—many types of people, from many different backgrounds, working in the many industries and services that make up Sheridan County.
