Thickman Faculty Lecture Series presents More Than Scrubs: The Art and Science of Nursing

The next installment of the Thickman Faculty Lecture Series, More Than Scrubs: The Art and Science of Nursing, will take place Thursday, November 13 at 6 pm in room 153 of the Whitney Academic Center. The lecture will be presented by Sheridan College Director of Nursing Tobie Alsup, who will explore opportunities in the nursing profession today, community partnerships that strengthen local care, and a vision for the future of nursing both locally and globally. 

Alsup brings more than 41 years of nursing experience to her role at Sheridan College. She began her career caring for mothers and newborns in hospitals in Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee before moving to Denver, where she worked at Denver General Hospital (now Denver Health). After relocating to Sheridan in 2002, Alsup continued her work in women’s health and prenatal education at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She has been a member of the Northern Wyoming Community College District Nursing Program for 23 years and currently serves as its director. The
