WYO PLAY has announced auditions for the Spring 2026 youth musical. This year’s selection is The Lion King Jr.
The production is open to students currently in grades 2 through 9. Students interested in auditioning must sign up in advance using an online form found by clicking here.
The auditions will take place in the WYO Theater main lobby at 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 24 for students in grades 2-5. And then 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 25 for students in grades 6-9
Some students may be invited to callback auditions for select roles the afternoon of April 25.
WYO Play is alerting parents that no preparation for these auditions is required. Students will audition in groups, introduce themselves and sing “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” a cappella. Participants will also learn a short section from a show song.
Casting will not be announced the same weekend. Cast members will be notified by midweek, approximately April 29.
The first rehearsal is scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Friday, May 1. Rehearsals will continue weekdays from 5-7 p.m. Weekly schedules will be provided, and no excused absences will be allowed in June.
Performances are scheduled for June 17-20.
