Sheridan County confirmed case numbers are beginning to spike once again as the county adds 82 lab confirmed cases since Friday.
The county also added 19 new probable cases over the weekend. Currently there are 138 active cases in the Sheridan County community, according to COVID-19 Public Information Officer Jennifer Graves.
Nine patients are currently hospitalized battling the virus. Sheridan County has experienced the deaths of 63 residents from COVID-19.
The Associated Press reports that beginning Saturday, private health insurers will be required to cover up to eight home COVID-19 tests per month for those on their plans. The Biden administration announced the change Monday as it looks to lower costs and make testing for the virus more convenient amid rising frustrations.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention list Sheridan County’s level of community transmission as HIGH.
