Acting Buffalo Police Chief Captain Garth Nicholas gave his final police report to the city council for the month of December, as well as the year-end numbers for 2021.
For December, Nicholas said there were 913 incidents in the city and dispatch handled 2,544 calls of which 273 were 9-1-1 calls.
The Animal Control Officer responded to 35 calls in the city, none in the county.
For the year, there were 11,330 incidents reported.
Dispatch handled 37,487 total calls of which 3,577 were 9-1-1 calls.
Officers investigated 172 vehicle accidents during 2021.
Nicholas also reported that Operation Blue Santa was again a success in 2021, and he reminded the council that Chief Jason Carder retired at the end of the Monster March in October.
