With mass meetings held last night at the Congregational and Baptist churches in Sheridan, the whirlwind campaign of the prohibition forces of Sheridan county was brought to an enthusiastic close.
In regular meeting this morning, the city council awarded the sprinkling contract. The contract was let to A.C. Evans for $3,900. Mr. Evans will use motor-drawn vehicles for the work. The other bidder was Frank Melton, who proposed to use horse-drawn vehicles.
A cloudburst between Ulm and Clearmont last night caused the delay of train No. 44, washing out the embankment. A crew of men was set to work and the track repaired after two hours’ delay.
