A sentencing hearing was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court for 20-year-old Kiley Green of Sheridan. According to court documents, on January 24, the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in Sheridan County. Shortly after law enforcement arrived on scene, Green was arrested for an altercation she had with another individual where she allegedly brandished a firearm, threw knives and choked the individual. Green was charged with Felony Aggravated Assault and Battery, Felony Strangulation of a Household Member and Misdemeanor False Imprisonment.
Green changed her plea on the strangulation charge at a hearing in July. In exchange for the guilty plea, the State recommended that the aggravated assault and battery and false imprisonment charges be dismissed. District Court Judge John Fenn at sentencing Tuesday, accepted the terms of the plea agreement reached with the State and sentenced Green to 3 to 5 years in prison for the strangulation charge, suspended in lieu of five years of supervised probation. Green was also ordered to pay $325 in various court costs and fees.
