Sheridan County School District No. 2 is a learning community made up of six elementary schools, one junior high school, one high school plus alternative schools at the junior high and high school level. SCSD#2 works hard to ensure the learning of ALL students. This district is an amazing place to learn and work, due to the dedication of parents, staff members, and trustees, in partnership with the broader community of Sheridan that values education and its youth.
Sheridan County School District #2, is dedicated to preparing every student with the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed for success. This philosophy not only embraces preparing students for college, but also for life.
SCSD#2 has a very active CTE (Career and Technical Education program, which includes such courses such as Agribusiness and Animal Systems; Construction; Design/Pre-Construction; Restaurant & Food/Beverage Management. Many students can take these skills into good jobs right out of high school.
There are many extracurricular activities at SCSD#2 as well. The benefits of participation in extracurricular activities are many, including managing time, balancing commitments, and making a contribution to the community.
Sheridan County School District #2 is proud of their athletics program at the junior high and high school levels. While academics come first, the school places great value on athletics and believe they enhance a child’s academic education. Participation in athletics promotes essential life skills, including teamwork, work ethic, self discipline, and time management. At SCSD#2, they take pride in providing an environment that is conducive to hard work, satisfaction, academic achievement, physical health, and good sportsmanship.
Everyone in SCSD#2 play a critical role in achieving fundamental purpose–high levels of learning for all students, whatever it takes. To promote the success of all students, the staff are committed to actively engaging the parent community.
Because of this dedication to student success, SCSD#2 has named the #1 School in Wyoming by US News and World Report in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2021.
