State Senator for District 22 Dave Kinskey discussed the upcoming legislative session with the Buffalo City Council during their meeting this week.
Kinskey said the legislature will be deciding how to use $1.2 billion in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding the state will receive through the federal government.
Kinskey said in that $700 million, the Appropriations Committee set aside $60 million each for local government water and sewer projects, political subdivision infrastructure, and healthcare facilities.
He said additional funding for the state has come from increased prices in the energy industry.
Kinskey said the Appropriations Committee also set aside $100 million of the $700 million for Governor Mark Gordon’s WIP, or Wyoming Innovation Partnership Initiative projects.
Kinskey outlined those five projects and we will have more on those in an upcoming story.
