Sheridan County’s Commissioners approved election and boundary changes for primary and general elections.
County Clerk and Recorder Eda Schunk Thompson said that the state’s recent redistricting bill created an issue in Sheridan County and explained why the changes were necessary and gave the proposed solution.
According to the resolution, a portion of District 2, Precinct 2 will be incorporated into District 2, Precinct 5; a portion of District 2, Precinct 4 will be incorporated into District 2, Precinct 5; a portion of District 4, Precinct 2 will be incorporated into District 4, Precinct 4; a portion of District 4, Precinct 3 will be incorporated into District 4, Precinct 4; and a portion of District 6, Precinct 1 will be incorporated into District 13, Precinct 1.
Thompson said those who want to check if they have been moved into another district can contact Election Supervisor Brenda Kekich to discuss the issue.
Also, the county will be mailing information to those affected in each precinct in the coming days.
The commission also approved a resolution setting the election disctricts and precincts for the primary and general elections and setting the polling places in the county for the next two years.
