Just over $1 million in grant funding for the expansion and renovation of the airport commercial terminal building project will be applied for after the Sheridan County Commission approved the application this week.
Airport Manager John Stopka brought the request before the commission and explained more about the funding and the project.
Stopka said it is a matched grant with the federal government contributing 93.75% of the total funding for the project, the state adding 3.75% and the county picking up 2.5%.
The total cost of the project is just over $4.2 million, and the airport will apply for the remainder of the funding in October, which is the Federal Aviation Administration’s next fiscal year.
