Staffing issues have forced one Sheridan complimentary service to temporarily close.
Sheridan Community Connections which is located within the Sheridan Health Center, will be closed until staff vacancies are filled.
The service connects people to the help they need such as providing connections to direct service providers, makes referrals, and identifies barriers and gaps in the community.
Both Community Connections and the Sheridan Health Center will merge with One Health, which is a federally qualified health center based out of Hardin, Montana, that will offer integrated primary care, behavioral health care and dental services.
One Health is currently remodeling the historic Sheridan Train Depot on 5th Street and plans to open a clinic later this year.
In a public statement, Wendy Ongaro, who is the executive director of Sheridan Community Connections, says the merger will allow SCC to leverage more resources and expand the services they currently offer.
One Health can also offer discounted fees to qualifying patients based on income and family size.
