Sheridan Fire Rescue will dedicate their new tower truck during a ceremony to be held Monday evening.
Sheridan City Administrator Stu McRae, while a recent guest on our talk show Public Pulse, said the city had recently purchased a new tower truck, explaining more about the upgrades that came with it.
McRae said the push-in ceremony is a tradition from the late 1800s when fire departments used hand-drawn pumpers and horse-drawn equipment.
The tradition dictates that a new engine is “pushed back” into the station when dedicated.
The ceremony will be Monday evening at 5:15 at Sheridan Fire Rescue at 212 East Works Street.
The public is invited to attend.
