Buffalo’s City Council has approved a contract with Interstate Engineering of Sheridan for Phase One of a geographic information system (GIS) for the city.
A GIS is a system that creates, manages, analyzes, and maps all types of data.
City Building Inspector Terry Asay explained to the council that the proposal is a three phase proposal that will gather all of the city’s current GIS information to see what the city has and doesn’t have to set up a city layer of the county’s map server.
The council approved the contract for Phase One in the amount of just under $24,000.
