Buffalo Council OKs Requests for ‘Trunk or Treat’ Event

September 12, 2022

The Buffalo City Council has approved a request from the Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) at Meadowlark Elementary School for a road closure for their Trunk or Treat event on Halloween.

Isabell DeWald, with the PTO, explained to the council the need for their request.

According to ptotoday.com, at trunk or treat events, costumed children walk through a parking lot, stopping at cars that have decorated trunks and receive candy.

With the expected increase in parents and vehicles participating, the need to move the event to the street in front of the school was necessary.

Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett said he would have officers on hand to close and maintain the road closure during the event.
