Johnson County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly talked with the county commission during their recent meeting to give them a few details on a proposed plan to get the county a GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) system.
Connolly explained more about the system.
She said equipment could be installed on the law enforcement tower, another at the airport and one near the American Legion to provide coverage.
The estimated cost for the system is about $700 for the system, which would be available near Buffalo, not county-wide at this time.
Radio experts were not able to make it to the meeting, but Connolly will work to bring them back to further discuss the program with the commissioners.
