A project to remap the floodplain in Story has been approved by the Sheridan County Commission.

At their last regular meeting County Planner Mark Reid explained what the project proposal from the US Army Corps of Engineers will do and why the remapping is needed.

Reid also explained that the area in Story was identified as a high priority for flood plain remapping by the recently completed County Emergency Management Plan.

Reid said there will be no cost to the county for the project, which will take roughly 22 months to complete once it is implemented.
