GPET Service Agreements Approved by City Council

Each year the City of Sheridan accepts applications for funding through the General Purpose Excise Tax program. The Sheridan City Council, at their business meeting considered service agreements with those that applied this year. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.

The City this year received 20 applications for GPET funds from various local nonprofits and government agencies. At their business meeting this week, the City Council  approved 18 of the 20 service agreements for a total of $503,500. Councilman Andy Patceg was the lone no vote for all 18 of the agreements.

Following Councilor Patceg’s remarks on the GPET service agreements, Councilman Steven Brantz had this to say.

The $503,500 in GPET Service Agreements that were approved was the amount that was recommended by Mayor Rich Bridger. The total amount requested by the 20 groups was $549,300. The two requests that weren’t funded were from American Legion Post 7 and the Drum and Bugle Corps.
