A 30-year-old Sheridan County man was arraigned on 10 felony charges Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.
On February 16, 2026, the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office received a report involving the possible sexual abuse of a minor. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Ross Nutter of Sheridan. Nutter, at Thursday’s arraignment hearing, pleaded not guilty to three counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree; three counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree; two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child – possession of child pornography. All of the alleged crimes occurred between December 2025 and February 2026 when Nutter was 30 years of age and the victim was 15.
District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled a five day jury trial to begin on August 10. A pretrial conference will take place July 9 at 10 am. According to the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation sex offender registry, Nutter is a registered sex offender in Sheridan County for a previous conviction of sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree.
