JCSD1 Board Approves Budget, Levy Resolution

At their regular meeting for July Monday evening, the Board of Trustees for Johnson County School District #1 reviewed their budget and then considered the Budget Appropriation and Levy Resolution for the 2026-27 Fiscal Year.

According to information in their agenda, the nearly $42 million budget includes $30 million in the General Fund; $2 million in the Special Revenue Fund; $3 million in Major Maintenance; $250,000 for BOCHES; $5 million in Capital Projects; $500,000 in Special Purpose Depreciation; $900,000 for Nutrition Services; $75,000 for Teacherage; $100,000 in Internal Service; and $500,000 for Student Activities for a Total Appropriation of just under $42 million.

The Board also considered mill levies for the County Recreation District of about $504,000; and for Johnson County BOCHES of about $252,000 for a total levy of nearly $757,000.

The board voted to approve the Resolution.
