For those who wear hearing aids, going to the theater can be a bit of frustration. In some cases ambient noise can drown out the performance and other performances are simply not loud enough.
Recently the WYO Theater installed a system that will help those who wear hearing aids to hear the performances clearly.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Executive Director Erin Butler told listeners this service can be picked up by most hearing aids available. A hearing loop, also known as an audio induction loop, is a unique sound system for use by people with hearing aids through a wireless signal that is picked up by the hearing aid when it is set to “Telecoil” setting.

Butler told listeners that many hearing aids already have the technology installed.

According to Butler, the system also cuts out ambient and background noise.
