In partnership with The HUB on Smith and the WYO Theater, the Sheridan Community Land Trust is inviting the public to learn more about a unique Sheridan area history.
Towering up to 70 feet above the river, the 36-mile-long Tongue River Tie Flume harnessed the power of the cold mountain water to quickly transport timber down the mountain to the sawmills in what was anything but a lazy river ride.
SCLT and The Hub on Smith will present the next Explore History: Era of the Tie Flume. This program will begin at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, at the WYO Theater.
SCLT Historical Program Manager Carrie Edinger spoke about the upcoming program while appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse.

Explore History is a collaboration between SCLT and The Hub on Smith and funded by the Next Fifty Initiative. Programs are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. This program is free to attend and open to the public. SCLT invites attendees to share their experiences during each program’s open discussion session. More information available here.
