JCSD1 Board Extends Superintendent’s Contract

At their recent regular meeting, the Johnson County School Board voted to extend the contract for the superintendent position, which does incidentally affect current superintendent Charles Auzqui.

He explained that that the extension is for the position and not him specifically, and explained further.

He said it establishes a rolling contract that allows goals and evaluations to be part of the process, and is typical of contracts at this level.

Board Chairperson Jan Johnson said after researching, it protects the district.

Auzqui’s contract will have no changes other that the extension through June 30, 2025.
