In its third year, the Future Filmmakers Program has condensed its comprehensive curriculum into a five week filmmaking challenge.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, WYO Play lead teacher and founder, Grace Cannon-Wallace, told listeners the program – a collaboration between Sheridan County Travel and Tourism, the WYO Film Festival and WYO Play – was well received in the past, but the duration was a big commitment for some busy budding filmmakers.

This year’s program began in late February. Students of the course are currently in the filming phase of the course. The program has been streamlined to cover as many aspects of filmmaking as possible in the five week time limit. Cannon-Wallace told listeners none of it would be possible with the collaboration of everyone involved.

The result of the five weeks of hard work will be a debut of the short films at the WYO Film Festival in Fall 2023.
