The Sheridan County Commissioners have decided which contractor will do the work on the Brooks Street Greenspace Project, which will be located behind the Sheridan County Courthouse, or near the building’s west side.
At this Tuesday’s Commissioners meeting (June 6th), a bid from Northern Underground LLC in the amount of $2,242,000-plus was accepted.
The initial notice to proceed has been given, meaning Northern Underground can start the retaining wall design, shop drawing preparation and submittal review, decide on the location for a backup generator, as well as start the ordering and approval process for any equipment and materials that may require greater delivery time.
The second notice to proceed will be given sometime on or after July 17th, which is when the Sheridan WYO Rodeo will be over, and substantial completion must be reached no later than the end of October 2024, with winter stoppage permitted from late 2023, until spring of ‘24.
Up to 45 days of work inside the courthouse building can be done, during the winter shut-down period if needed.
