Sheridan County Sheriff Levi Dominguez appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to remind residents that fireworks will soon be lighting up the night sky, beginning July 1.
Fireworks have long been a staple of Independence Day celebrations in the U.S., symbolizing patriotism and honoring the nation’s founding. Sheriff Dominguez used the opportunity to urge residents to review local fireworks ordinances and stay informed about when fireworks are permitted in Sheridan County.

The Sheriff emphasized that fireworks are prohibited within 50 feet of any occupied structure unless the property owner has given permission. Additionally, with the exception of New Year’s Day, fireworks may only be set off between 6 a.m. and 11:30 p.m.
Dominguez also warned that it is illegal at all times to ignite fireworks on county roads, highways, public roads, or county property.
To help ensure a safe holiday season, deputies will increase patrols throughout the summer to monitor celebrations and enforce fireworks regulations.
