Enrollment in Johnson County schools is up this year compared to last, according to fall enrollment numbers from the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE).
In a release from them, the WDE reported that there were 1,205 or roughly 100 students in each grade level from kindergarten through 12th grade in Johnson County School District #1 in the fall of the current 2021-22 school year, up from 1,184 in the fall of 2020-21.
The current numbers are down slightly from a high fall enrollment of 1,306 during the 2018-19 school year.
Elementary students (grades K through 5) were at 508 students; middle school students were at 281 students, and high school students were at 416.
Statewide numbers for fall enrollment in all school districts were 91,992 students for 2021-22; up from 91,938 last year.
The statewide high during the last 10 years was 94,002 students in the fall of the 2015-16 school year.
